And they have finally hatched! Google’s New Year’s Eve doodle has finally hatched and we have a long list of new comers indeed. Upon refreshing the Google Search page users will now be greeted with different hatchlings, of which there are three in all.
The first refresh hatches into a duck, the second opens up to reveal a baby croc, while the third one is a bit special with not one but five baby turtles. Indeed this is an elaborate New Year’s Day doodle with with three different themes.
If you are pondering over why a duck, a croc and turtles have to do with the past year, well they don’t. They seem to be placed there to represent a taller alphabet in the word ‘Google which is the ‘l’.
It was just yesterday that Google put up its New Year’s Eve doodle with five colourful birds who were geared up to celebrate but anxiously waiting for the egg to hatch. Looks like this one indeed turned out to be a surprise for them as well.
Last year’s New Year’s Eve doodle showcased a number of events that took place over 2014. Google celebrated the last day of the year with an animated recap of some of this year’s top trending searches, including the 2014 World Cup, the Philae robotic lander, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, and Flappy Bird, with a shout-out to the Mars Orbiter Mission. However the following New Year’s Day doodle was not too elaborate as you can see from the gif above.
