Motorola had announced a New Yearâ€™s treat to its Moto G3 users in India that phones would get an Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. However, the exact date of the rollout was not mentioned in the tweet. Now it is time for the Moto G3â€™s elder sibling to shareÂ the spotlight, as owners of the Moto G Turbo Edition haveÂ also begun to receive a notification for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
According to reports, some users have started receiving updates to upgrade. The OTA (over-the-air) update is 445.5MB in size, finds this report and it also includes Android security update for December. Googleâ€™s Doze battery saving feature is also included here as part of Marshmallow that helps improve battery life significantly.
Generally, the phone would notify you about the update. If, however, one does not receive the notification, one can manually check for the update by going to Settings > About Phone > System Update.
